Manspace..... Walll to wall porno, TV with sport on it ALL the time. Beer on tap in the arm of ever chair, which would be a recliner. Gorgeous women with long legs and short skirts ferrying various fried foods to the fortress of Laz-e-boys infront of the bigscreen. An indoor rugby field. A blind black guy in the bathrooms who looks after the towels. Some sort of open spit fire which can be used as a BBQ....

because they all stare at you and you know they're thinking, "why are you in here, you're a white boy". I walked through once and some guy coughed and said PI space. I almost turned around and said, "Do you know who i am? I own these fucking buildings, all i have to do is click my fingers and this will become goddamned sam space, capiche?". Some of them are really really lovely, like super lovely, they'll invite you in for food and drink during cultural mosaic, just randomly grab you as you walk by and drag you in to celebrate with them. Unfortunatley there are some who think that no one is allowed in there but them.

Don't get me started, it takes so long to explain why and stuff, same goes for womens space. If you want to know why go up and ask them, and i guess your white male space is the whole university, anywhere you go, you're not a minority. Thats not me endorsing that view, i'm just telling you the way it is! Plus i don't want to say anything incriminating :P

Men deserve a space just as much as women do. Only gay guys will say otherwise.

You'd have to be more specific than 'white space'. I go to an Armenian club sometimes for instance, of course we have Iraqi-Armenians, Iranian-Armenians, regular Armenians, etc. Although it doesn't apply to me since I don't speak it, it's good to have people who speak the same (first) language as you, share a similar background and culture, etc. Most people tend to have friends who are similar to them, because you have more in common and thus more to talk about.

So make a gaelic club or something, with a sign saying 'You must this morange to enter'.

Calvin....you tripped an interesting thought in my skullbones...Why is racism directed towards whities called 'reverse', or in your case 'inverse' racism? This implies Racism is strictly something that white people do the black people....I dunno. I'd be curious to know the social psychology behind the phrase 'reverse' racism...an admission of guilt on our (the White folk's) part, perhaps?

Fucking awesome! Thanks for asking :P It was sunny, unlimited visibility, beautiful powdery snow and hot! I was snowboarding in just a top (no jacket) at one point! It was tiring and hard work though, so i think what i really needed after those 10 days of election hell was to go somewhere tropical and lie on a beach and do nothing! But, meh, i'm not complaining! :D

Well, the weather in Auckland was crap. We have all been snowed under (hehe sorry) with assignments and tests :(

I know the feeling, i have a 2000 word essay due tommorrow at 4, i haven't even started it yet! So, methinks i'm kinda fucked!

They stare at anyone they don't know regardless if you're white, Maori, islander, punjabi, ra ra ra. That would almost be a defence except I find it quite disgusting.

It's just some of the new ones, like the first years, who don't know any better. But i do think that we (non-PI people) shouldn't be hanging out in there, just because it is their space and we have plenty of other space around campus to chill out in, walking through shouldn't be a problem though.

Goodness no! I totally advocate for these spaces, i think they are fantastic, i just don't think that people should be close-minded and assume that they are completley off-limits to 'others', with the exception of women's space of course. When i posted that i was being a dick, i didn't really think that, it just pissed me off when he said that. I don't like to be made to feel uncomfortable.
