Our club has been running for 2 years now on campus.

Just this year we introduced a development squad into the mens B-League here. Made up of people we sign up during orientation week and who've never played before but always wanted to, we're doing our best to get Hockey out there and seen in New Zealand.

Our Varsity Blues team is going strong, we're in the Mens A-League again this season, (Mens leagues here in Auckland are 3-tiered and we are in the middle one)

Next season we hope to advance to the Top league called "The Premier League".

We have our 3rd and last Preseason game comin up this Sunday night Ill keep anybody interested updated in this thread with our weekly results.

I went to the AUT vs UofA game last year.

AUT was getting creamed so i started cheerleading for AUT...

Didn't seem like there were many AUT ppl there anyways..haha

U of A kanes AUT.

AUT is tiny in comaprison for starters, their university is all over the place.

Their uni magazine is a joke.

They have not been a university for long and as someone who went there for a year before Auckland University, they are not a university.

U of A is more credible.
U of A has Craccum, without which I would die.

AUT does have some cool buildings though.

AUT better get better. . .the first game (which i played in :P ) was kick ass. granted we didnt win, we tied. but games are so much more fun to watch and play in when they are competitive.

are you all just choosing to ignore liz's rant about AUT? im happy for friendly banter, but ive never heard someone actually detail why aut is apparently so crap. my mum is a lecturer in esol at AUT. i take offense at what you're saying liz. who are you to judge if they're a university? how the fuck would you know, and how are you qualified? sounds to me like you failed all you're fucking papers there and had to leave because you kept getting lost. how is auckland university more credible? i know what you're going to say. and, like always, its a being steaming pile of bull shit. please, cut the crap.

Actually no Toby, I did very well at AUT, I got As and Bs. My grades were way better than they are at Auckland Uni (bs and cs). Don't get me wrong, when I was at AUT, I got offended at the comments made about it being inferior, but to dramatically slide in grades you do have to question the credibility of the institution.

Toby, AUT is much smaller and much younger so it hasn't yet attained the standard that Auckland University has, or the credibility. It is a baby but that is not to say it can't grow, it just hasn't done so in the past.

I feel that I am most qualified to judge it as I have been there. The institution is not well structured in my opinion. I feel that it is just a university in name rather than technically.

I stand by what I say though, Auckland University is so much better in terms of credibility, history, size, sporting achievements, research achievements, courses offered, number of students and uni culture (AUT doesn't have any of those things to its name in my opinion).

Auckland University is my choice, it always was. I was only at AUT because I wanted to move to Auckland asap, at 17 and AUT was the only way I could do so.

Yeah allan has a pretty nice scar from 2001 (i think) It happened just before he was supposed to go to russia and czech with the under 16 NZ team....... he ended up going but not playing!
