Today a plane load of rugby players arrive from the UK, along with 20000 fans. Auckland is going to be hell.

Do I care? Nope. Couldnt give a monkeys. Likewise I didnt care much for Liverpool winning the Champions League or The Arseholes winning the FA Cup.

For me there really is only one sport. I live and breathe cricket. And even though overnight England put Bangladesh to the sword on day one of the first test

I just see this as a somewhat tepid warm up to the main event of the year which happens in 56 days at Lords.

As the first ball of this years Ashes is bowled 1000s of fans from opposite sides of the planet will skive off work, or if you are like me, be at work having had 2 hours sleep, in a filthy mood. Why I bother I don't know. England hasnt won a Ashes series since 1981 and although England are a much improved side after years in the wilderness, Australia are a stunning side, more than capable of putting England to the sword in a series hiding that will break the hearts of fans worldwide.

But still we dream. And the dream will last all summer/winter long.

Its kinda sad thing that bangladesh is touring england just before they play aus. They will either get too complacent or just not good enuf practice.. their level will drop im sure... unless they absolutely carve up bangladesh

I doubt the Ashes will be live, we usually get an hour of highlights for each day of an England home test if we're lucky. Hope I'm proven wrong though.

And I'm afraid I don't see England winning the series this year. They have some good batsmen but I just don't think the bowling attack will be able to consistently run through Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Martyn, Clarke, Katich and Gilchrist.

Great game from what I understand. Cairns gave Fleming a great (tongue in cheek) send off! And Lara bowled 10 bowlers including himself. Fleming wasn't so generous.
