Title: WTF?
Description: this takes the piss
Hannoir - February 13, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
So I just go to the AUSA website, to see the score with O-week.
I get to their "new site" but theres fuck all on it. You can go to the old site, but thats really out of date. So theres no info about O-week on the net, and you'd think that that would be where they would plug it. Also I'd think that now would be the time to plug stuff bigtime as ya know, new meat and such....
I don't know. I should write an email to someone in AUSA I guess. sigh.
SheDevil - February 13, 2006 12:09 AM (GMT)
Helllooooo! The voice of AUSA here. Ummmm, Nick is busy doing two jobs, maybe three, so the website is being updated as we speak. If you want O'Week info go to www.orientation.co.nz. That will give you the run-down by city, hope this helps :)
DoubleD - February 13, 2006 12:09 AM (GMT)
FYI The Orientation section of the website is currently being set up, and will be up and running quite soon. That explains the incomplete nature of the Orientation welcome screen. Apologies for the delay.

Okies..was hoping you guys would come on :)
Its just its like the prime time to get meat and such. At birmingham we get at least 2 mailshots sent to us through the summer to tell us whats going on and to make sure we show up to everything...i dunno it just seems weird.
Steveo - February 13, 2006 03:03 AM (GMT)

My cousin starts uni this semester. I'll bring him along to pub quiz at some point if he's keen, although probably not till the second semester as he doesn't have uni on tuesdays (we rigged it so he would have a 3 day week, despite having 4 papers :)).
JPAR - February 13, 2006 06:22 AM (GMT)
I feel bad for your cousin, we should have another round of poker or something. Haha.

hmm, actually poker would be a cool thing to have before the quiz starts.
Scuzza - February 13, 2006 07:03 AM (GMT)
I want to start coming to the Pub Quiz this year!
You guys can come up to my office beforehand and play poker.
SamF, Doctor Steve and Hauser all know where it is.

JPAR - February 13, 2006 07:41 AM (GMT)
I'll start saving my pennies.
the oob - February 13, 2006 07:48 AM (GMT)
I have a pretty cool poker set (200 chips, 2 decks of cards) I can bring, as those who have been to my LANs know. Texas hold'em (5 community cards, 2 cards per person) fine by everyone?
SheDevil - February 13, 2006 09:53 AM (GMT)
I'm still grappling with texas hold'em, and regular poker for that matter, my game is black jack, I hit on 19 and got an ace once, on a $50 bet, yeah :D
the oob - February 13, 2006 11:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah I'll most likely have to teach a few people on the day, so no probs, it's pretty easy as long as you understand basic 5 card poker. My cousin taught me all the shit now about who bets when and so forth, so that's covered.
I plan to buy a card shuffler from trademe, they're a lot cheaper than I thought.
JPAR - February 14, 2006 03:59 AM (GMT)
As long as everyone doesn't take as long to grasp the concept of a blind bet as you guys did!
Archie McRiff - February 14, 2006 10:36 AM (GMT)
I'm keen for poker but would rather not play for money. Because there's always a winner and there's always losers (unless everyone ends up breaking even, but this is an unusual case). And given that there will be huge differences in skill level, it can only lead to bloodshed. And people can get pissed off and that disrupts my harmony.
Big Poppa - February 14, 2006 12:20 PM (GMT)
Not playin for real money doesn't really work well cos people bet stupidly in a way they wouldn't if their actual cash was on the line. Poker is g as can be. Sippin on spirits and smokin cigars is how you have to play.
the oob - February 14, 2006 01:21 PM (GMT)
Bet on small amounts of money... everyone throws in five bucks. Enough to stop people playing stupidly, but little enough that it's still for fun and no one loses a kidney.
El Matador - February 15, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
Let's just find a fucking race track. Now horse-racing, that's gambling...
Maus - February 15, 2006 09:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but if you start doing that, you'll inevitably become addicted, and lose all of your family's money, and you'll only be saved from the brink at the last minute by the love of a good woman.
Or so
Home and Away tells me.
Hannoir - February 15, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
thats what desperate housewives told me last night too
El Matador - February 15, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
Oh yea. Flynn dies.
WARNING: HOME AND AWAY SPOILER ABOVE.

SheDevil - February 15, 2006 11:59 PM (GMT)
Nooooooooo.............shit. He has cancer, lots of it, Iw asn't exactly expecting him to live! What's the deal with Kim? Why is he in hospital?
I guess i'll just have to wait for the omnibus on Sunday <_<
Maus - February 16, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)
Kim got hit by a car after leaving a meeting/argument with that idiot with the baby and her idiot partner. I forget their names.
No longer relevant to the plot? Expect to get hit by a car.
It's the fate of any Home and Away character that outlasts their usefulness.
And then they found out that the baby isn't Kim's. So the idiots can be happy and guilt free.
Hannoir - February 16, 2006 12:18 AM (GMT)
So anyway, O-week.
Whats going on?
