Title: The Fear Of September 11 Is Dwindling

whats a pair of nail clipping scissors gonna do? :shrugs:
Happy Ahmed - April 6, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
In the 60 odd years of commercial aviation prior to September 11 2001 there were approximately zero terrorist acts carried out upon aircraft with knitting needles and nail scissors.
I think the whole security beat up is a knee jerk reaction. If someone really wants to blow things up they will find a way regardless of pathetic security attempts.

Yay finally the "Oh No they have a diaper pin shit they could hijack a plane with that!" hype is dying.
Dr_Steve - April 6, 2005 06:04 AM (GMT)
I don't think anyone is going to let people hijack a plane with boxcutters anymore.
Fez - April 6, 2005 10:06 AM (GMT)
If I win the auction for Thor, Id try to hijack a plane with it just to prove a point

Always 'a' dildo, never 'your' dildo.

Right now that the ball is rolling and other people have had their say (before me for once, thats a change, I may be sick at this point in time) I will have my say.
I can see why the airlines are relaxing things slightly but I'm not sure I would do it. The incident happened once and there is every chance it could happen again.
I don't think they should be relaxing security.
Dr_Steve - April 6, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
They might very well try and hijack a plane again, but the passengers would overpower them if all they have are boxcutters or whatever.
If the passengers on sept 11 knew what was going to happen, the terrorists would never have succeeded. They were relying on surprise, which they have now lost.

Which is why using a giant dildo would work, no one would ever suspect that
Happy Ahmed - April 6, 2005 10:39 AM (GMT)
You could flatten a motherfucker with a good swing of Thor.

"He who would trade liberty for security deserves neither".

The thing I'm wondering is why terrorists don't simply set fires in US national preserves. No chances of getting caught (unless you're a moron), and all it takes is a match. Maybe set a few fires simultaneously to stretch the fire fighters and speed things along.

thats bad for the enviroment tho
the oob - April 13, 2005 06:26 AM (GMT)
Yes, but I don't think these are the kind of guys who hug trees on arbor day.

It's about time the paranoia that's hit the US subsides. US has only been hit 3 times in it's history. Big whoop. Time to get over it. The longer this irrational fear remains, the more damage it is going to do towards innocent minority groups in the US and others on a global scale.

Yes but for the united states that is three times too many.
many others would disagree considering the number of countries they have invaded and the number of people they have killed.

Being attacked isn't a justification for killing thousands of civilians. i.e Invasion of Afghanistan where 9,000 Afghan CIVILIANS were killed, 3 times more than 911. Basically saying their lives weren't of any value in comparison. I don't condone that kind of irrational bloodthirsty retaliation, 'cause that's purely what it was. Show sympathy for Americans? i think not.
