Title: Chiang Issues Challenge to Doc

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 01:43 AM (GMT)
From the few examples of Dr. Steve's recent attempts at hijacking my thread, I've decided to issue him a challenge. (Dammit, where's my Taiaha when I need it?)

I challenge him to hijack as many of my threads/posts as possible to see how long such Beatles/Lennon shennanigans shall last.

(Gosh, my mood is rather silly right now.)

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
I think you are taking this the wrong way, it was meant to illustrate to you the effect of having a thread hijaced by something completely unrelated and completely boring. Not as a challenge to your Adolf'ness

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
My tolerance of your Lennoness shall serve as a demonstration.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
*sigh* this is going to take a while

I'll see how long you can keep up with the Lennon... They say patience is the way of the warrior and that's something I've got plenty of.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 02:20 AM (GMT)
you know John Lennon once issued a challenge to Paul McCartney in the form of a song, "How Do You Sleep?" on his Imagine LP.

As for the question, I sleep very well, thank you. (I stay up fairly late.)

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 07:14 AM (GMT)

You may like this torrent (not a direct download link btw), it's for Ancient Rome style music, including Fortuna.

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 07:17 AM (GMT)
'Carmina Burana' was composed in 13th Century Germany, its Latin lyrics have always been mistaken for a piece of ancient Roman music.

the oob - January 11, 2006 07:18 AM (GMT)
Hence why I said 'style', to cover such pieces.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 07:22 AM (GMT)
people actually have little idea of what ancient roman music sounded like. They have some idea of the instruments used, but I don't believe that any representation of the actual music survives (at least in an authentic form)

However, It is well know what the music of John Lennon sounds like, as well as the instruments he used.

For example, here is an interesting guitar which has symbols that he carvde into it in the 60's:

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 07:25 AM (GMT)
Is it hard to 'Lennon' around all the time?

Miss_Illusioned - January 11, 2006 07:39 AM (GMT)
POwer to the People!!! Have you ever thought to give peace a chance? You should try and go cold turkey on all the warfare stuff. Can you imagine the Instant karma you would get? Just quit playing those Mind games, man. IAnd no I am not being a Jealous Guy. If you try and change it would be Just like starting over.

(In a rather silly mood)

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 07:41 AM (GMT)
haha brilliant!!

Beating the hammer on the gladius don't really count as 'Metallica'.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 07:45 AM (GMT)
no, I am questioning your knowledge of John Lennon. To prove me wrong, name the albums that all those songs appeard on (or single of it didn't appear on an album). (no google plz)

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 07:48 AM (GMT)
Umm... was 'Imagine' a single? :retarded:

Since I couldn't really answer the question, I thought my reply sound really retarded.

I told you before, I don't listen to Chav tunes or Hippie tunes.

Bring on the orchestras!

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 07:53 AM (GMT)
Imagine was recorded using a full orchestra. I could probably even find the name of the orchestra.

From the music video, we see only Lennon and his guitar. Get real, mate!

JPAR - January 11, 2006 07:57 AM (GMT)
It's a rare known fact, covered up by the yanks. The romans had electricity, and they used it to power the amps and guitars. Homer was actually a rhythm guitarist.

JPAR - January 11, 2006 08:04 AM (GMT)
Steve are you ever going to change your sig? I just can't help but picture you as an old bald cunt. Or ziggy. But mostly the bald cunt.

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 08:05 AM (GMT)
More like a bald cunt with an alcohol problem, disguised as a wine connoisseur.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 08:08 AM (GMT)
lol maybe it is time I changed that pic.

/EDIT how's that?

JPAR - January 11, 2006 08:11 AM (GMT)
I think it is. Unless he's related to you or something. Is there somet long amusing story as to why you have him in your sig?

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 08:12 AM (GMT)
Doc, does Hoogy even know that you're using his image?

EDIT: Oh God! That looks retarded and pornographic! Change it back to Hoogy!

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 08:13 AM (GMT)
he is a particularly noobish physics lecturer that I had for stage 3 mechanics and stage3 quantum. If you took those papers you'd understand why he was there.

Adolf Chiang - January 11, 2006 08:17 AM (GMT)
Well, at least you did put up that picture of Lennon and Yoko Ono in full frontal nudity, I found that image in a Beatles biography. It was shocking...

QUOTE

That makes no fuckin' sense. The Army isn't homoerotic.

Dr_Steve - January 11, 2006 08:18 AM (GMT)
when John and Youo told the media they were having a 'bed in' on their honeymoon, after seing the nudie photo the journalists were sure that they were going to fuck in front of the cameras. Of course this didn't happen.
