Title: Save teh bunnay!
the oob - January 10, 2006 10:30 AM (GMT)
From
here (though without the links and such that are on the site):
Welcome,
Toby is the cutest little bunny on the planet. Unfortunately, he will DIE on November 6th, 2006 if you don.t help. I rescued him several months ago. I found him under my porch, soaking wet, injured from what appeared to be an attack from an alley cat. I took him in, thinking he had no chance to live from his injuries, but miraculously, he recovered. I have since spent several months nursing him to health. Toby is a fighter, that.s for sure.
Unfortunately, on November 6th, 2006, Toby will die. I am going to eat him. I am going to take Toby to a butcher to have him slaughter this cute bunny. I will then prepare Toby for a midsummer feast. I have several recipes under consideration, which can be seen, with some pretty graphic images, under the recipe section.
I don’t want to eat Toby, he is my friend, and he has always been the most loving, adorable pet. However, God as my witness, I will devour this little guy unless I sell 100,00 copies of my book, Save Toby: Only you have the power to save toby. You can help this poor, helpless bunny’s cause by purchasing the book online at Amazon.com by clicking HERE, or by purchasing merchandise at the Savetoby.com online store.
Here is the current status of donations for Toby, as of June 30th, 2005. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!

Yes yes I know it's old, but has anyone posted it here before? I just remembered it recently and thought it would be good for a laugh.
SheDevil - January 10, 2006 09:56 PM (GMT)
It's silly how now it's all changed, I thought it was far cuter when he had the old story up. I want the book though, but I don't want to be giving him what he wants, proifiteering off stupid people..........and yes, that would make me a stupid person, but I love bunnies. :retarded:

Actually I just put this here so you'll think I'm not infalliable, thus setting the stage for future trickery. I can even state this outright knowing you won't believe me.
It's all part of my master plan.

No.
The bunny is very cute though.

It's so stupid how people would fall for the rabbit's cuteness as part of the scam. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people like me urging him to kill it, just to disappoint all those PETA subhumans.

'PETA subhumans'. I support just about any kind of prejudice you could name, but your hatred of adorable animals sickens me...

The very logic of the bestial activists is flawed. I don't really hate adorable animals, I just hate PETA.

PETA are completely and utterly retarded if you read up on them. There's a very good episode of Penn and Tellers 'Bullshit' which sums it up quite nicely.
Tony Montana - January 11, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
What do you mean 'their logic'. Animals deserve to be protected. There are few people I hate more than those who mistreat their pets.

PETA also kills animals when they can't save them. They're so radical that they are against animal testing (no matter how humane), medical advances (think of the future) and wants to ban meat eating. I bet some of their members donate their bodies to animal nutrition after their deaths.
Tony Montana - January 11, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
Oh.. yeah, that's kinda extreme. Animal testing is fine. As long as mon-one fucks with my black lab, Max.

That 'South Park' episode summed it up nicely also, they're a bunch of perverts that shit on the ground, eat leaves and fuck their pets. Also, Penn & Teller kicks ass! (Although they're libertarians.)

I'm generally against all the dipshits who go around demanding higher penalties for all crimes with no focus on prevention or rehabilitation. However, I believe all animal cruelty penalities should be at least doubled.
Why? Because human interaction is complicated, there are almost always complex reasons for a human commiting a crime. The exception is crimes against animals. Animals are always innocent, an animal doesn't bite you because it wants your wallet, it bites you because it's been mistreated or you poked it in the eye. Animals are even more innocent than children. And most of the time it's completly unprovoked, people just being cruel for the sake of it. Fuck I hope the bird flu wipes out humanity. Karma.
I'm not a violent person, but I saw this little shit, must have been about 14 walking with an obvioulsy maltreated dog and he hit it with a stick. So I ran across the road and through him on the concrete. Stupid little fuck.
As a psych student i'm pretty 50/50 about animal testing. If it's something of real value to society, such as cures to diseases etc, I can generally agree with it as long as harm is minimized. Well, not agree with it, but beat my conscience into submission. However, businesses testing simply for profit should be stopped, and then the CEO's should be subjected to the worst of the tests they performed.
In summary, people who mistreat animals, like those that mistreat children are scum, and should be curb stomped.

I must say I agree with JPAR on what he said.
I don't know enough about PETA or any other animal welfare organisations to comment properly.

PETA are quite extreme, and can be misguided in some of their actions. However anyone that uses that as a reason to throw off animal rights concerns is a fucking ignorant shit.
the oob - January 11, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
I'm pro SPCA but anti PETA, or anyone else who tries to take away my hamburgers.
JPAR - January 11, 2006 03:35 AM (GMT)
Eating meat is natural. Animals eat other animals. The only thing I have problems with is unneccesary cruelty, for profit and other reasons. Especially since we waste almost nothing of the animals we kill.
edit - is it me or is this add on this thread fucked up?
"Animal cruelty on ebay, register for free. Great prices!"

Here's an amusing quandry for vegetarians to mull over: if we don't eat meat, then we won't be breeding animals for slaughter, which means those animals would never be born (since we're the ones breeding them). Therefore, by not eating meat, you are denying those animals the right to exist.

It can be countered pretty easily. In their opinion being born to slaughtered (pretty brutally, and for a lot of animals, live a cruel and hampered life) is worse than not being born at all.

This can be averted by eating halal meat (humane slaughter, which I would contend is better than your average natural death), free range eggs, that kind of shit. In general, eating only that meat which is taken from animals which were treated humanely over the course of their life.
