Title: Athlon64 cores

okay so our old computer is broken, and long story short we have to upgrade.

I have been looking at the diferent types of cores for athlon64, and what I've figured out is that for chips with a core older than venice, you can't stick 4 sticks of DDR400 on the motherboard, cause they'll just run at 333. Then I discovered that there's a newer core called the san diego, but I don't know how its better than the venice, and people don't seem to be stocking the dan diego processors.

is it worth my while getting a san diego over a venice?

My venice core is the shit, its never missed a beat.

Go for the Venice. San Diego is like DDR: it sounds cool but it actually offers shit-all benefits over anything else.

awesome thanks guys, venice it is.

haha well compy's fucked now, windows xp loop boots (can't even get safe mode with command prompt) but linux is okay.

probably windows doesn't like 64 bit or PCI-E, or nforce, or the MB doesn't like that I plugged a 20 pin power cable into a 24 pin plug, or the power supply isn't powerful enough for the graphics card, or the ram they gave us is dodgy, or windows got corrupted while the computer was stuffed...

fuck
