Title: Da Cricket

Maus - November 28, 2005 08:49 PM (GMT)
So, first one-dayer in Eden Park against the Aussies on Saturday. A thread seems appropriate.

Anyone going?
How we gonna do?
Which Black Cap is the least competent (tough contest there)?
And how many comments about Hamish Marshall's hair with Ian Smith make?

:lolcricket:

Happy Ahmed - November 28, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
I may be at the game in spirit. Lying in a hammock and drinking a swappa watching it on tv.

Maus - November 29, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
Only a swappa?

Happy Ahmed - November 29, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
The whole crate.

Maus - November 29, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
Soft.

SheDevil - November 29, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
:hilarious: Ahmeds' a soft cock, neh neh nehnehneh :P

Ahhhh, shit i'm bored.

Happy Ahmed - November 29, 2005 01:41 AM (GMT)
1 crate is approximately 27 regular beers.
And I eat the crate afterwards.

Call me soft again and i'll punch you in the tits.

Maus - November 29, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
yeah, but over an eight and a half hour cricket match, that's only 3.176470588235 beers an hour. And the crate is going to absorb some of the alcohol.

Happy Ahmed - November 29, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
That's still 2.176470588235 beers more than the average liver can process per hour. So it's kinda like drinking 17.5 beers instantaneously innit?

Hauser - November 29, 2005 02:23 AM (GMT)
We better fuck the Aussies up, or else I'll be in tears. I may or may not go, we'll have to wait and see.

True, which would probably result in a :eww:
If not a trip to the hospital.

I get the feeling it's gonna be a downtrou this weekend Hauser. The Aussies have been in a take no prisoners mood since the Ashes.

Big Poppa - November 30, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
a crate over 8 hours doesn't make you hurl. though your interest in the cricket may have abated somewhat.

just the crate, Ahmed? Eat the bottles too you fuckin pansy.

yeah i reckon the strayans will probably hammer us but we generally do pretty well at home and are a chance

Happy Ahmed - November 30, 2005 04:41 AM (GMT)
The bottles give me gas, yo.

Brendon - November 30, 2005 10:07 AM (GMT)
eating the crate is just stupid, it means you won't be able to get the discount off a new swappa

Senor - November 30, 2005 10:08 AM (GMT)
discounts are for the homeless.

you fool!

They give you money back if you return their delicious crate. Eating it makes the extra few dollars thoroughly worth it. A perfectly good wooden crate full of essential vitamins and minerals for a very reasonable price. Why would you not eat it?

Well, I was at Eden Park last year when Tuffey bowled his 15 ball over, so I can't agree with that (as much as I'd like to).

Big Poppa - November 30, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
haha yeah i was there too but i feel we have a better chance on our seaming wickets cos they make our bowlers seem better than they really are. For example the south africans came over here and we smashed them 4or5 - 1. We go over there and got spanked 5-0 (if i recall). and a year or two back the indians got absolutely dicked over here cos they couldnt handle the seam.
and theres no mcgrath or warne so i rate us a shot.

Fair play. The Black Caps are so goddamned inconsistent that they could win any match on any day. It'll be interesting to see how Vettori goes as cap'n against the Aussies, as well.

Boy Wonder - December 1, 2005 12:18 AM (GMT)
Bond is back on NZ soil for the first time in a while.

They don't have McGrath or Warne, but they do have McGill, Gillespie, Lee, Kaspowatzonitz and some others who I cant remember but are really quick and fucking dangerous. Any bowler from the b-team or, for that matter, the Wollongong old boys team would make it onto ours. I'd say we're fucked. However, I powers of foresight have been proven to be slightly sketchy with regards to sports on this forum before, so I say that with fingers crossed. Or do I...?

Boy Wonder - December 2, 2005 03:05 AM (GMT)
Last time I checked Kaspowitz Magill and Gillespie wernt in the auzzie side. They have a pace attack made up of Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken plus a couple of new boys. We often step up against the auzzies, im giving us a chance.

_Ed_ - December 2, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
I'm going, which is bad news for NZ supporters since I've been to 11 games and seen NZ win 1 of those games, a 2 run win against the mighty Zimbabwe. Oh dear.

Make that 12.

33/6. Not the best.

Was a great day on the terraces anyway though, loved the "who lost the Ashes?" chant.

Senor - December 3, 2005 10:51 AM (GMT)
ahh sjot we got a fuckign hiding!

Aaron_von_Cock - December 3, 2005 10:56 AM (GMT)
Spanked

Fucking spanked like bitches

Full credit to the terraces, though. Highlight of the day

Big Poppa - December 3, 2005 01:10 PM (GMT)
We got a fat dick in our collective arse. i believe the chant was "you lost the ashes" which i concur was fucking mean. "you lost the netball" was pretty weak though to be fair. Lee's figures were unbelievable. Anus.

Archie McRiff - December 7, 2005 09:28 AM (GMT)
I wish I'd watched more of the game today... the number of runs scored by both sides was amazing. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might still be watching it delayed but crikey doubleplusfucking moses. Not a big cricket watcher, but I've never seen scores anywhere near that. And the run rate over both innings, i.e. 100 overs. Gee fucking willickers.

_Ed_ - December 7, 2005 11:10 AM (GMT)
That last over really hurt. I'm still feeling a bit shit about it. But what a game.

Maus - December 8, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
Dammit, I missed the end of the match last night. I was listening on the radio, but switched it off to play FIFA, and forgot to turn it on again for the last few overs. Damn you FIFA! Damn your time sucking vortex powers to hell!

I went to the match on Saturday though. Boy did that suck.

Fez - December 8, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
I dont even like cricket and I was on the edge of my seat

Stupid auzzies bowling shitty ground balls.

Boy Wonder - December 11, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
World record chase

Hauser - December 11, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
oh man that was awesome last night! :D

Dr_Steve - December 11, 2005 06:12 AM (GMT)
hehe I was reading about the upcoming test matches in the air new zealand magazine on the way home, and they promised us a win, and I thought yeah right. sure proved me wrong.
