Title: Thanks Alec And Stian

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 08:51 AM (GMT)
Today I picked up Craccum and as usual there was a letter regarding me "the laughng girl" when I had not written into Craccum as it was. I went to see Alec and Stian in the office because I was fuming.

As of immediately we have all agreed that no more Anti Liz letters will be published.

I am doing sports now, my name will not be associated with it.

I just wanted to make it publicly known that Alec and Stian are doing an excellent job this year and if you guys are reading, thank you.

Happy Ahmed - April 4, 2005 08:59 AM (GMT)
Be thankful you get any sort of recognition at all.

I have been submitting filth for ages and I get barely more than the odd letter. However I do not come across as vapid and clueless.

Oh.

What?

Zing!

Happy Ahmed - April 4, 2005 09:03 AM (GMT)
Post count is nothing.

I despise you.

What?

I noticed it today and read it today because of you being a regular on this forum.

I was thankful that I used to get recognition and then it got boring. I don't mind people disagreeing with my opinions, that is fine, but blatantly writing into Craccum referring to me as "the laughing girl" iand commenting on my appearance is not something I tolerate, yes it is me in politics 107. This was on the letters page.

It must be something. Look how many Liz has got. I can only aspire to be so vocal.

*cough*

This is NOT flaming, repeat. NOT flaming. I'm just feeling a tad random tonight.

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 09:18 AM (GMT)
I know that it isn't a flame. I know I never shut up. Everyone at work knows I don't shut up. People at uni know I don't shut up.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 09:27 AM (GMT)
hey liz, when you went up, was there a handsom young chap sitting on stians couch?

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 09:34 AM (GMT)
and how do you know that letter about politics 107 is about you? do you have 'two saggy, cellulite encrusted bottocks?' and if you do, how do you know it was yours old tom is talking about. Is his point not valid?

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 09:48 AM (GMT)
I know because he is in my politics 107 paper and I am the laughing girl. I was referred to as the laughing girl when I went for class rep. he asked me if I was the laughing girl. That is how I know.

I went up to the office this arvo at about 12pm. I did notice Stian talking to some guy but that was the extent of it, I was pretty riled up at the time.

The point is that the flame was un-necessarily published and the editors are sick of people writing in about me.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 09:50 AM (GMT)
thats weird. i dont think anybody thought it was you. only the miny skirt might give it away. Either way we all know now. What do you think of what he said?

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 09:53 AM (GMT)

there are i think 10,000 copies everyweek. Im sure everybody can make up their own mind about the job alec and stian are doing.

Well as I said, I went up to the Craccum office because of letters like that being published in reference to me.

I think it is disgusting that people comment on other people's clothing. We are talking somebody who is educated, if he doesn't like the site then he can avert his eyes. He was also incorrect in saying I don't have self respect because I do. I think if people have a problem with me they shoudl tell me face to face or email me at wild_aucker_lizhotmail.com

i don't think he should have said what he said, clothes are up to the individual and personally I look fine and his opinion means nothing. It is a culmination of letters that prompted me to go to the Craccum office today and get something done about it.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:11 AM (GMT)
the mind boggles. im considering wearing a full mesh body suit tomorrow, and you will see my abnormally big genitals. but you can just avert your eyes. im free to dress as i please. i dont have to be anything you want me to be. im free to be me. Who thought it was ok to judge anybody, ever? get in line you maggots, and watch me dance naked on symmonds street. or avert your eyes.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:11 AM (GMT)
having said that, no one deserves to be picked on. i am a delicate snow flake.

Will you be posing for pictures with fans? I'd really love a 6x8 glossy.

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 10:15 AM (GMT)
No look, what I am saying is that people should be free to wear what they want without other people being nosy. I am comfortable wearing short skirts, maybe other people aren't but it comes down to individual taste and values which vary between people hugely.

If you want to go topless that is fine, you have the freedom to do so.

People were no clothes back in cave times so for people to get riled is very interesting and I find it sad and pathetic that people are so concerned, there are ore important things to be worried about like war, starvation, politics etc.

I find it superficial as well.

You are right though, nobody deserves to be picked on which is why I went to the editors office, they thought letters like that had stopped and so did I.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:23 AM (GMT)
not topless. naked. if people are going to see your cellulite buttocks, then they will see mine as well. when you see me naked, i think you'll change your mind. i dont give a fuck what anybody else is wearing, but i might be able to sympathise with somebody who doesnt want to see my ass in their face in structural design 2

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 10:29 AM (GMT)
all women get it, even actresses like Tara Reid, they are just fixed up in pictures, that is the only difference.

I'm not having this discussion, not because I am offended because I am not but because I don't think people have the right to tell other people what to wear.

As I said, if you wish to go naked I truly couldn't care less, I have better things to worry about.

Fez - April 4, 2005 10:30 AM (GMT)
Ok this thread just OD'd on too many hits of random

Wow honestly I didnt know he was talking about you Liz, but I felt bad for whoever he was talking about, which since you state is yourself: I feel bad for you.

I say continue to wear what you wear and (figure out who he is) sit as obnoxiously close to him as possible

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
haha pure spite. you're nasty jon

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 10:37 AM (GMT)
He was talking about me, I wasn't that offended just sick of this sort of thing, and I missed a lecture to see Alec and Stian at the office.

I intend to wear skirts as short as possible, they have gotten shorter and they can't get any shorter. I am making a bit of a political statement.

I know exactly who it is and I think he is gutless, I had the guts to go to Alec and Stian to ask them to stop printing the like and I was shaking and speechless when I got there, I tried to open my mouth but the words wouldn't come out for a minute.

I think that guy needs to stop worrying about other people's clothing, it doesn't affect them and there is NOTHING wrong with the way I look to be honest.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:38 AM (GMT)
youre right liz. no body can tell somebody else what to wear, thats ridiculous. but you may get people taking exception to it if in fact you are wearing a belt. which maybe you werent. i dont know. im not 1st year. people can be so judgemental

no body can tell any body what to wear. lyrca anyone?

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 10:41 AM (GMT)
well thats all debateable lizzy baby. do you not think that wearing short skirts is offensive? i find it embarrassing and crude. my grandma tells me not to wear short skirts because i look like im trying to attract attention. she says that when i wear short skirts she feels embarrassed because why am i showing off my legs, if i dont care what anyone else thinks? i know i look good, but shes says im gutless and i cant get laid.

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 10:47 AM (GMT)
Toby if you wish to wear a short skirt then do, I've got about 16 I could supply you, all different lengths and colours and styles.

the point is, I've been wearing short skirts since I was 6 so they are not a sexual thing for me, they are just clothing, I was brought up in them. My skirts go to my thighs.

No I don't find it offensive when other people wear short skirts, its their business what they wear, not mine. it is like dreads or short hair or trousers or jeans, some things are better best kept to yourself "if you haven't something nice to say then don't say anything at all".

If it is a hot day then of course you wear a short skirt or shorts, i don't like shorts though so I can't do that.

First years can be immature, you are right, I was highly immature last year and bought into university culture and being all make up is fine blah blah blah, these days i wear no make up, what you see is what you get.

Again, I shrug it off when someone makes a comment like that, it only makes them look bad personality wise and immature, people place too much emphasis on image. I do look good (check my avatar) but people have personalities too (as I said in my first letter in Craccum this year).

acrowley - April 4, 2005 11:03 AM (GMT)
If you find wearing short skirts great and don't see any problem, why do you get people to pick your shit up for you when you drop it? Shouldn't you just bend down and pick up your own pencil or paper or whatever rather than be hung up that someone might see your ass?

Short skirts since you were 6? Thats a lot of years people been picking up your shit for you.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:08 AM (GMT)

well thats the whole freaking point. they might not be sexual to you, but they're sexual to everyone else. if i see a chick in a belt, i say to myself, that girl has poor self esteem, that girl is over provocative and that girls parents must be so pleased. Thats not judgemental, because, like a short cut top says, here, you can almost see my tits, and short skirt says, here, you can almost see my <censored by mod>, which should be reserved for your 'boyfriend' and your local priest. The dude in politcs 107 has said, liz i dont want to see your legs, whether you look good or not, my girlfriend is here and she thinks im looking. People no not want to see my legs or my nipples. i realise that. why cant you?

acrowley - April 4, 2005 11:13 AM (GMT)
Can I see your nipples please Toby? Or rather can you wear a lowcut top, as I suspect the reality may be somewhat dissapointing.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:14 AM (GMT)
im afraid your suspisions are well founded.

I'm confused.

You have been saying all along that you don't want people to care about what you wear, but now you say you're making a statement, implying that you do want them to care?

yams - April 4, 2005 11:18 AM (GMT)
not sure if i can ever listen to cake - short skirt, long jacket in the same way ever again  [shiver]

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:24 AM (GMT)
:hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
I do realise that and he can avert his eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why should I have to change the way I dress because other people, who aren't my friends don't like what I wear? Its rediculous.
i accept people's clothing as they choose it and other people should do the same, its called politeness and maturity.

The political statement is this: "he made a comment, I dress how I want and nobody is going to change that, I will not have my wardrobe dictated by other people".

Tha we have freedom as well and I am bloody apprecaitive of it so I make the most of it, that is what we faught for in world war two, that is why women burnt their bras, that is why their was the feminist movement, equality.

He has no right to tell me what to wear, nobody does.

Look as I said Toby, what you wear is your business. I wouldn't care if you came to uni in multi coloured robes, I might look at you but it would be a look of pleasent surprise that someone was doing what THEY WANT for once. I wouldn't care if you came naked, I'd feel liberated and would probably strip off myself and join in with the liberation. If you came in a skirt I'd think, "so thats what guys look like in short skirts, and finally, a guy is brave enough to make a statement".

I surveyed 21 university students this afteroon and 14/21 think you don't have the right to comment. 7 think you do have the right.
67% are no
33% are yes.

That says something.

When I wake up in the morning I decide to wear what I AM COMFORTABLE in and the truth is jeans and trousers are not comfortable for me, I hate my hips, so I wear skirts. I like the reast of my body.

i am confident in myself and I am not a slut so people shouldn't think that, half the short skirt wearers aren't either. I know sluts who wear jeans and dress conservatively.

Clothes mean nothing and people have different tastes and preferences for different things.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:40 AM (GMT)
:hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :frustrated:

He cant avert his eyes! he clearly stated so. Stop pretending you dont understand what people are telling you, dont even think of arrogantly equating yourself with freedom fighters, thats ridiculous, nobody ever fought so you could wear short skirts and angrily proclaim you look good. I look good, but if i wear tank tops and tight pants i know people will think im a dick, because im trying to display my body. You could easily wear a long skirt. my mum wears them all the time. if you dont care wat people think, why are you so hung up about this whole thing? why have you started a thread? no one is disputing how good looking you are, but theres this little known thing called modesty. Yes people have different tastes and views. in fact i saw a she-man out the back of the dogs bollix, looking for paid sex, and she was wearing a belt. representative.

i will not be getting naked with you. i try to wear modest clothes that show respect to people who dont want to be visually insulted. You can choose what you wear, absolutely, but you once you've made your bed......

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 11:43 AM (GMT)
MY CLOTHES ARE MY CHOICE, NOT ANYONE ELSES.

I DON'T LIKE LONG SKIRTS.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

:frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated:

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:49 AM (GMT)
Ok, well thats fairly narrow minded. And you gotta bring jesus into this? he never wore mini skirts. Hes not down with that.

liz_shaw - April 4, 2005 11:50 AM (GMT)
No being narrow minded is categorising clothes into "right" and "wrong" and what people "should" and "shouldn't" wear as well as enforcing your viewpoints onto other people.

Toby Turner - April 4, 2005 11:55 AM (GMT)
Granted. As would be forcing my bare thighs before your righteous person. you can wear watever you like, you're right. I cant tell you what to wear, but i can tell my daughter that if she wears a mini skirt, i will belt her coz she looks like shes got something to prove, and mini skirts are what hookers wear. Jesus isnt down with mini skirts.

hotshotec - April 4, 2005 11:58 AM (GMT)
You have a perfectly valid point Liz :). But didn't you say that ,somewhere on this forum, that u dislike ppl who dont take the effort on how they look like?

though he has been known to wear multi-coloured robes every now and then, and a long skirt.
