Damn straight there's a market.
*owns the Halo 2 soundtrack and has game music comprising roughly a quarter of his collection*

Agreed. Those GTA:VC compilations are fucking unbelievable.

I thought I was going to be ridiculed for starting this thread, but I guess I was wrong.

Some games truly awesome soundtracks...I can name Final Fantasy, Official Formula 1 Racing (some of the best drum and bass I've ever heard). It's a lucrative market alright.

There's even talk of music videos for download. If that's the case, then I can't wait to see some C&C music videos! That would be one step up from those game promotional videos they release.
*Imitates hip firing an M16.*
It would be a rip off to download MOHAA music since all the soundfiles are either in mp3 or wav and fully installed onto your hard disk.

Yeah, Vice City has a beautiful selection of audio that admittedly San Andreas cannot beat (Plus I absolutely love Miami Vice, so that means Vice City wins for it's association with the show anyway).
Adolf, you realise that the Covert Operations expansion CD for C&C Tiberian Dawn was also playable on stereo's as a music CD? I have absolutely no fucking idea where my copy of CO:C&C is though.

I listen to CO music all the time, Hauser! Allowing a game's music to be playable on stereo is one thing I look for in games. The same also applies for the 'Red Alert' expansions.
Let this be the move of games into mainstream culture (with a proper commercial music genre, it'll be more than just for geeks)! Hollywood is already alarmed by the fact that the games industry is profitting more than the film industry (including DVD sales). Geek pride, brothers! Geek pride!
