Title: Amusing Civ 4 screenshot
Description: Multi-nuke = bigger explosion

Apparently if you stack together a lot of nukes, they make an ever bigger explosion than one would make (the same applies to artillery etc.). Here's 97 ICBMs at once (original, much larger version here):

Excellent. Did that clean out an entire empire?

I haven't used nukes in Civ 4 yet (in the one game I've completed, I got lazy and won via space race), but I'm guessing it would only affect the same range as a normal nuke, although there would probably be more fallout (which may have a bigger range in Civ 4 than previous Civs).

Holy shit, that screenshot alone makes me want to finish downloading the torrent of Civ4! Elite!

It wouldn't be worth the effort in reality. Real nuclear wars are fought with strategic attacks with multiple nukes of smaller yields rather than one huge one that just spreads radiation everywhere.

If you fantasize about nuking America, go here: http://www.fas.org/main/content.jsp?formAc...7&contentId=367

Otherwise, go here: http://www.fas.org/main/content.jsp?formAc...7&contentId=410

I like a bit of realism in games once in a while.

Real nuclear wars aren't fought, they're lost.

I wonder if my old strategy from Civs 1, 2 and 3 still holds up*: when you have one enemy left, have troops nearby (though not adjacent to) all their cities while in a state of peace, then nuke all their cities at once and conquer all their cities simultaneously*.

IINM Civ 4 will automatically pull your troops out of enemy territory when you declare war, so for my strategy to work this time it would probably require clever use of paratroops, commandos (can use roads/rail in enemy territory) and such.

* I refer to it as 'The von Schlieffen Plan', even though it has no similarity whatsoever to the real von Schlieffen Plan.
