Title: TV3 Poll
Description: Peters Down?

Scuzza - November 3, 2005 11:00 AM (GMT)
I only caught the tail end of the article on three news, I'm actually wondering if anyone else saw the full results and could update me?

I understand Peters is under the threshold.

This could have two effects: either he knows he is gone if he quits the arrangement, or he feels the arrangement is killing him and is much more vocal in his opposition on certain issues.

The results of the latest 3NEWS political opinion poll are in with Winston Peters fearing poorly.

Almost 75% say he has retracted from his pre election promises. With the demise of Peters in the polls his party has seen a similar fate, NZ First has hit a record low well below the 5% threshold.

Labour however has seen a positive increase to 44% but as Political editor Stephen Parker reports. Helen Clark is in no position to become complacent.

Thank you!

It seems TV3 has revamped their sight, I remember when it was just TV listings.

Greens are on 7% now it seems. Wonder where that extra 2% came from since the election ? :P

Great. Now it's just as slow and hard to read as the other two channels.

This is the point in the term where polls matters the least. He's got 3 years to earn back the affection of any xenophobes and elderly that have lost respect for him for lying about not taking "the baubles of office". He won't have any trouble at all doing that.

Heh, I love the Heralds headline: "NZ First eats humble pie..."

Yes, Winston's supporters have shown an amazing ability to forget his past - such as the National-NZF Government of 1996-8 - so no doubt he isn't too worried yet.

But again, if the polls show him below 5% for a long period of time:

I personally think Winston should have bit the bullet completely and called what he was going into a formal coalition, it would have been worth more to him in 2008.
