Amperzahn are playing at Hysteria on K'rd this thurs (8th september, 9:00) we're playing sans keyboard that night, we havent played as a 3 piece for a while, but it certainly changes the sound a great deal, so it should be a different experience to the four piece line-up. We also might have a date at edens bar on oct 13th (to be confirmed) which also hapens to be my birthday. If anyone is keen to come along, that'd be cool bananas.

Steveo - September 7, 2005 06:51 AM (GMT)
Changed the name,

theres no I in team ;)

Yeliah - September 8, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
The Dilletantes are playing at Eden's Bar again tonight. :ohsnap:

Aaron_von_Cock - September 8, 2005 06:05 AM (GMT)
Should I go? :hmm: What time are they playing?

Yeliah - September 8, 2005 07:12 AM (GMT)
Why don't you ask Ms. Rice, there? I'm sure she'd give you a nice, direct answer. Heh. As for me, I don't think I will be. Pikings by all friends and visions of Aamer's keg tomorrow night are keeping me in a rather sedated state of being. Tell me how they do if you end up going, though. :brash:

Aaron_von_Cock - September 8, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
Shame, they were cool. Started fucking late, though as the band before them whose drums they were sposed to borrow happened to be christian wank jobs and took the drums away for an early night snuggled up with god. They then had to go drive somewhere to pick up a set of drums before starting at around 12:30. Cool people were there (ie me) :goatse:  :scat: :happycat: :scat: :sausage: :ph43r: :arrg: :brash: :brash: :iwentthere:

Yeliah - September 9, 2005 09:02 AM (GMT)
Awesome. Fuck, I should have come but all my friends were being crap. :flame: Interesting, I always thought that God didn't approve of rock music. SINNERS. Oh, unless they're preeching about him, obviously ( Creed, anyone?). *shudder* As it turns out, Aamer postponed his keg until tomorrow night, the bastard. Are you going, per chance? (I shall now proceed to syphon all the cool icons that you have not yet used.) :hambeast: :helen: :ninja: :oob:

JoshuaZahn - September 10, 2005 12:09 AM (GMT)
Ha, I was at edans bar that night for all of 5 minutes. The drummer in my band knew the band who was taking hours to setup, upon noticing that they were only just getting the kit on stage (approx 12) away we left.

Pity cause our drumkit had been nicely setup down the road for around 3 hours, just sitting there. Looking pretty.

templar34 - September 10, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
Anyone else heard anything/planning on going to Reel Big Fish/Goldfinger?

Aaron_von_Cock - September 15, 2005 10:26 AM (GMT)
Ultra cool pixie-voiced singer/songwriter Joanna Newsome (with support from Smog) is playing at the Maidment on October 16th

cool.........

Aaron_von_Cock - September 18, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)
Also, on october 14the (ie 2 days before Joanna Newsome) The Dillatantes will be playing their last show before their Bassist goes away (or maybe the drummer).
Either way, I hear there will be a smoke machine and some lights and perhaps the sound to one of their instuments won't fuck up half way through.
Yay :brash:

Yeliah - September 18, 2005 11:55 AM (GMT)
Heh. And this would be at...Eden's?

Aaron_von_Cock - September 18, 2005 11:57 AM (GMT)
the one and only

...... place they ever play at

Yeliah - September 18, 2005 11:59 AM (GMT)

Aaron_von_Cock - September 18, 2005 12:11 PM (GMT)

Yeliah - September 18, 2005 12:17 PM (GMT)
Horny had nothing to do with it. I told you, I fucked Don Brash last night. As for sick and twisted...:shrugs: Think what you will.

Really fucking excellently rad group Odessa are playing at Rising Sun on November 5th. That's Saturday. Fuck exams, I'm going. They are fucking cool.

Archie McRiff - November 11, 2005 05:24 AM (GMT)
Hogwild, the Next Big Thing That Everybody's Talking About, are playing on Friday the 18th at the Brownsy in Browns Bay, I have no idea what the bar is like as I haven't been there before. But I'm expecting it to be a riotously fun gig. We're playing with a covers band and a band whose guitarist is friends with my bassist, and they are pretty good I think. If on the Shore, have many beers, and then come along!

And introduce yourself to me cause I don't know any of the goons and it would be cool to meet some. I am the rhythm guitarist/ singer with long hair that occupies around the same volume as a basketball.

trix - November 11, 2005 05:53 AM (GMT)
whats the name of the covers band?

Steveo - November 11, 2005 09:37 AM (GMT)
Hahaha I used to work 2 minutes away from the Brownsie, shit its a fun pub. I might come along, anyone else fancy it?

Stool Sample. Nah just kidding I have no idea. I think "Stool Sample" goes quite far beyond the "so bad it's good" category. No offence intended if anyone actually has a band called that.

Steveo - November 27, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
Ok, where do I start

Foo Fighters 26th November 2005

The D4 opened rocking the place out (as always) performing all their hits along with a few old favourites (of mine). The venue didnt really suit their style as they are a more close up and personal kinda band but great all the same. Unfortunately the sound system in the supertop sucked balls so there was much interference etc etc, with the D4 coming to an end the Foo's made stage. At this point I was crushed by a mass of 13-17y.o males who were "rockin out" so I proceeded with my female friend to the side (where we had quite a fantastic view). The Foo's put on a solid performance with Dave Grohl being and the drummer being the only band members who actually looked like they were having a good time. I will say this, Mr Grohl is fucking fantastic. All their singles played with a suprise performance of "Big Me", but yeah it was a great show bar the teeny-bopper. (damn jail bait)

Solid show, pretty much what I expected but nothing spectacular.

Archie McRiff - December 1, 2005 04:23 AM (GMT)
Word on the street is that Motorhead is playing tonight at the St James. They will surely Steal Your Face, proving that they were Born To Raise Hell and that they are the Ace(s) of Spades. Lemmy's riffs will chainsaw people's skulls like Jack The Ripper and at some point will surely Tear Ya Down like a Bomber. Was this Overkill? I don't know. I've got No Class anyway so it doesn't matter.

Archie McRiff - December 2, 2005 12:23 AM (GMT)
That was fucking awesome. The concert that is.

Archie McRiff - December 19, 2005 06:28 AM (GMT)
Well in case anyone's interested, my band is playing on the 28th at the King's Arms. Everyone is on holiday so hopefully there will be a good few people there. Come if you want, it will be fun and you will get a chance to see me in my natural walrusy habitat. We are on last, so that probably means we'll start between 10:30 and 11. Not sure really.

Fuckarse. I'd come, but I'll be in Gisborne. No doubt trying to pitch a marquee(moon)-sized tent in the fucking thunderstorm.

Archie McRiff - December 21, 2005 08:49 PM (GMT)
Heh. Pitching a tent.
We're playing on the 11th January too though Hailz.

Archie McRiff - January 6, 2006 10:54 AM (GMT)
The Datsuns are playing a "secret" show on the 11th, next Wednesday, at the King's Arms with the Rock N Roll Machine. I saw these two bands together a couple of years ago, also at the King's Arms. It was fucking wicked.

I therefore highly reccommend that any of you goons who are into rock go along. These are both veteran bands, and the Datsuns don't play in NZ very often (last Auckland show was about 15 months ago).

Crappily, my band is playing on the same night which means 1) there will be no one in the audience at my gig and 2) I will probably miss the above gig, which I would really like to go to. Unless I try and get mine out of the way as quickly as possible and then hurry to the KA.

Also, be aware that the show will almost certainly sell out, as it did last time. So get a ticket before the night, or arrive early.

Fez - January 7, 2006 08:06 AM (GMT)
Kitsch are playing this Thurs at the KA

Oh fuck yea.

Adolf Chiang - February 16, 2006 09:41 AM (GMT)
Anyone going to see David Strassman on Mar. 11th? Ventriloquism combined with vulgar jokes is always good comedy.
