Title: C&c

To be honest I never really got into that game, and the musical was not memorable for me. It always seemed a bit boring, and as cool was it sounded back when I saw the preview for it in 1995, it was nowhere near what I imagined. Nevertheless, it was entertaining on multiplayer, I remember that.

The song from Red Alert, Iron something, or something like that was great.

I remember beating C&C with NOD but never managed with the good guys. Finished RA with both.

A radio station I used to listen too would occasionally play hellmarch. That was fun.

Speaking of 'C&C', I think they should remake the original 1995 smash hit with modern technology. Somehow 'Quake' and 'Doom' got makeovers but not C&C.

WHICH STATION WAS THAT?!!!

*Impersonates the guitar riffs in 'Hell March':*

We want war; wake up! (The only lyrics.)

I would say that some of the techno tracks by Frank Klepacki (the C&C composer) is worth nightclub quality.

The station was called Radio Free Zion and seems to have disappeared.

It wasn't really a radio station as it broadcast over the 'net but the same general rules applied.

Do you guys think that 'C&C' has any remake potential (in terms of commercial success and gameplay)?

Synopsis - December 8, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
Probably.

They're probably working on it right now.

Well, here's my vision of a new 'C&C':

- Further improvements on the graphics from 'C&C: Generals', today's PC technologies are capable of producing absolutely scaled units. (This new game must rival Christ Tayler's upcoming 'Supreme Commander'.)

- Real orchestral music (not the lame, synthesizer shit heard in 'Generals'), probably by EA's Michael Giacchino (the John Williams of games with the MOH and COD franchises under his belt) with full 90+ piece orchestra! They should probably rehire Klepacki for the techno/electronic tracks. I presonally want to hear an orchestral rendition of the soundtrack classics.

- Merge of 'timelines': the 'technology gap' in old 'C&C' and 'Renegade' should be bridge with more 'Renegade' biased technological progression through the missions. Newer units (of the same tech level) are a must (like 'stealth/invisible Apache' or F/A-22 as examples).

- New combat capabilities borrowed from 'Generals' would be useful, like the general's abilities unique to each side and actual air-to-air combat. Units should have different weapons/abilities to toggle. The 'Generals' control interface was the only change to C&C that I liked.

- 1 or 2 indoor infantry missions like in RA1 (that was fun).

- Further explanations or plot twists about the mysterious origins of Tiberium and Kane/Nod (previous 'C&C' games had rather lame plots). The mysteries can't be kept under wraps forever.

- Global war: old 'C&C' missions were set in Africa and Europe only while the manual hinted that the war was global with Nod infects located in Asia and South America (not to mention terrorist groups wreaking havoc in the West). 'Renegade' had a number of missions set in Latin and Northern South America.

- Personality and locale reflected in voice acting would be appreciated since Nod forces are drawn from mainly Third World nations.

That's all I've got for now... Maybe I should submit this to EA or Petroglyph (a new company made up of former Westwood staff).

I fuckin' wish! EA made announcements on RA3 but the progress has been very slow and there are rumors that 'C&C3: Tiberian Twilight' got dumped (now that fucked me off immensely).

With the whole game remakes trend going and a 'disinterest' in 'Tiberian Twilight', I suggest that they should go remake 'C&C' to get the nostalgia going again, then they go make 'Tiberian Twilight' with the established technology. I think they should also completely revamp 'Tiberian Sun' too, as that game was a farce. Westwood wasn't very good at telling detailed stories.
