I guess a question to ask is, should we make medical insurance compulsory as I think they do have in the states? It would certainly enable the government to spend the money on other areas that they need to. It might even allow us to pay lower taxes if it is compulsory to have medical insurance.
I am pro private health care because it is individual responsibility which I am in favour of.
I don't think that we should pay taxes for years when we may not even use the service so I say lower the taxes and have private health care paid for through medical insurance.
Agreed. At the moment for me anyway, it's not that expensive, maybe 20 odd bucks a month and I barely notice it missing. I do think it will be somewhat of a stretch if you're a family not earning a hell of a lot.

Hypothetically you earn $300 before tax weekly, $60 will go on tax and I am unsure what portion of tax the government spends on healthcare but you see my point that by reducing tax rates one could easily pay for their healthcare themselves.
