Title: Movie Based On A Forum User

Adolf Chiang - October 11, 2005 11:53 AM (GMT)
Who in this forum do you think deserves to have their life brought onto the silver screen?

I suppose it'll be interesting to watch the antics of Templar or Ahmed.

Fez - October 11, 2005 11:58 AM (GMT)
Ohohoho

I smell a humorous photoshop as soon as Im done with all these assignments

"Templar Bigalow, French Jigalo"

templar34 - October 11, 2005 11:59 AM (GMT)
I'm flattered.

I'd probably plump for either Happy Ahmed or maniacnymph. The former'd be a brilliant cult comedy, the latter a fairly art-house fly on the wall type thing, with good use of indigo etc.

Adolf Chiang - October 11, 2005 12:02 PM (GMT)
Hang on, if there's a film about Happy Ahmed, I'm sure it'll be porno. I can't think of a day when he doesn't talk about sex or genitalia.

Hannoir - October 11, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
I'll say me cos i'm feeling in an attention-whorish mood this morning - a day in the life of an exchange student.

but really, ahmed nymph or templar would be far more interesting.

Happy Ahmed - October 11, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't produce a porno. Too passe.

The movie of me would be a discordant, harrowing, and hilarious adventure.

And Adolf, dude, we all have genetalia. It's ok to talk about them without being a sick deviant. Unless you actually enjoy blushing and smirking behind your hand giggling "he said penis hehehehe".

Speak for yourself. I lost mine in 'Nam. Now I just have a steel pipe and a pear of golf balls in a paper bag. I can keep hard, but can't feel a thing

If there's a movie about me, it would be in black and white, have minimal dialogue and constantly have classical music in the background.

Maybe all that radiation gives a nice tingle. At least until they notice the bleeding... :eww:

Schindler's List came out a while ago. :P

El Matador - October 12, 2005 04:42 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking a movie about my life would be like xXx without the supermodels, explosions or plot holes...

So nothing like xXx really.

Senor - October 12, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
fear and loathing in las vegas was based on a weekend i had in wellington last year.

honestly.

Hannoir - October 12, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
steveo and fez are having an affair (steve is aroused by fez's goatee and fez loves steves legs..) so a movie about that would amuse me greatly.

Amuse you? Or arouse you?

Fez - October 12, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
There needs to be a movie with Ron Jeremy

Hannoir - October 12, 2005 05:59 AM (GMT)
Oh shit.

hotshotec - October 12, 2005 07:05 AM (GMT)
So Fez, what ure implying is that u want a film with Ron Jeremy and YOU and SteveO? :P

haha

maniacnymph - October 12, 2005 07:12 AM (GMT)
a movie about my life would drive you all to bash yourself to death with your keyboards/popcorn+icecream+frozencoke combos. i warn you now.

I just want to indicate how boring my life it is and it would be very lame if it ever becomes a film.

Steveo - October 12, 2005 08:11 AM (GMT)
You're the star appearance hotshot ;)

Hambeast declined to join, apparently Mr Jeremy is "old, ugly and fat"

Adolf Chiang - October 12, 2005 10:43 AM (GMT)
Any movie about the Hambeast would just be as entertaining as staring at a blank screen for three hours.

I think it's a good idea to continue filming with black and white even in this day and age. It holds certain artistic and nostalgic qualities.

samf - October 12, 2005 10:50 AM (GMT)

I watched Night of the Living Dead (1968) today at the AV library, in glorious black and white. There are times when all the extra visual data colour gives gets in the way of a good story, such as flesh-eating reanimated corpses on the rampage.

él_bronto - October 12, 2005 11:40 AM (GMT)
Sin City. 'Nuff said

Yeliah - October 12, 2005 01:50 PM (GMT)
Garden State. Or Amelie. Ooh, ooh. Or I Heart Huckabees. Existentialism. Yeah.

Fuck I LOVE GS... just about my favourite movie of all time i think... :) I've seen bits of Amelie and I've yet to see I Hear Huckabees - it looks entertaining. oh, btw i saw closer recently, it sucks balls, and after watching natalie portman play a really sweet nice girl in Garden State its wierd and a bit disturbing to see her all stutt-ified...

Steveo - October 13, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
Natalie Portman slutified? Where!

El Matador - October 13, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
Yea, even julia roberts gets whore-a-fied. I was not impressed.

Yeliah - October 13, 2005 03:51 AM (GMT)
Closer was the biggest piece of anti-climactic ass I've ever wacthed.

Oh yeah, we (myself, Mr T, and some others) saw that thinking "Well even if it sucks, it'll have at least one redeeming feature".

Yeliah - October 13, 2005 04:32 AM (GMT)
I saw enough "boobies" last night between myself and my girlfriends to last me a lifetime, thankyouverymuch. At least we can all sunbathe topless together now.

Ahem. Anyway.

After much consideration and analysis, I have come to the conclusion that if I was in a movie, it would have to be Empire Records.

Senor - October 13, 2005 04:36 AM (GMT)

Weird. Both Closer and I Heart Huckabees are amoung the best four films I've seen this year. I found the anti-climactic ending great because, hey, that's what life is like.

Seeing NP and JR as hoebags also really convinced me that both truly are brilliant actresses. Diversity is the key to true talent, and seeing Closer was done by the same man who did the cult classic The Graduate it gets double points for showing off the talents of the collaborative artists involved.

But yeah, I Heart Huckabees was great. I love Naomi Watts.

Any man that likes film and has not seen Amelie all the way through needs to get his shit together and watch it. It's truly wonderful

Yeliah - October 13, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
It's true, it's all true. I'm not denying the fact that NP and JR are wonderful actresses, because they certainly are after that load of bollocks. Most redeeming features, probably. I don't know, I guess I was expecting something a little different.

As for Amelie, I love the fact that I was able to study it intensively this year and not come out hating it like so many other films I've studied. Then again, Amelie has been a favourite for far longer than my degree has.

the oob - October 13, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
Fuck I remember I downloaded some movie once but it was fucking Amelie (back in the bad old days of non-bittorrent p2p you'd get films with the wrong name sometimes), which I promptly deleted.

Adolf Chiang - October 13, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
What's this 'Amelie' about?

sdr - October 13, 2005 10:04 AM (GMT)
A Parisian girl starts anonymously helping people while trying to capture her true love. It's about love, laughter, happiness and all other things you probably can't/wont comprehend. If you watch this movie it just might be enough to make you want to burn your army uniforms and sell all your nazi paraphernalia on trademe.
