Title: More Murders & Manslaughters

I was going to put this in the news section but there is a political elemtn to it as it shows an increase in violent crime which the government says is down.

here are links to two articles I found on the herald website just now:

THis one is suspicious.

This one was an accident which I question.

So the question here is why are there more violent crimes nowadays than there used to be? What is making society corrupt and want to kill people and take lives that they have no right to do?
What can we do to prevent it? and why aren't we doing those things?

Your views please dial 0800 OPINIONS or just post on the forum lol (I feel like I'm in talk back sometimes).

I think we need to get back to the community spirit and have neighbourhood watches, that is the first thing. The police don't have the resources so this is always an option.

This would require advertising and getting to know your neighbours.

Maybe that is actually a problem, community spirit has disinitgrated.

We should all take up arms and barricade ourselves within our homes. If those bastards want to rape us, then make 'em work for it. :ph43r:

I can see the neighbourhood watch thing turning into an outright militia. There will always be one 'crackpot' who thinks he/she is doing the right thing by going round with a gun/mallet/bat/*insert weapon here* 'protecting' the neighbourhood, when it will more than likely end up in tragedy.
