Title: War Pornography.
Description: It's official. We have lost our humanity
Anti-Flag - September 28, 2005 11:33 AM (GMT)
War Pornography US soldiers trade grisly photos of dead and mutilated Iraqis for access to amateur porn. The press is strangely silent.
By Chris Thompson
If you want to see the true face of war, go to the amateur porn Web site NowThatsFuckedUp.com. For almost a year, American soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan have been taking photographs of dead bodies, many of them horribly mutilated or blown to pieces, and sending them to Web site administrator Chris Wilson. In return for permission to post these images, Wilson gives the soldiers free access to his site. American soldiers have been using the pictures of disfigured Iraqi corpses as currency to buy pornography. http://www.eastbayexpress.com/Issues/2005-.../news/news.html

Hey now I don't come on here and criticise your fetishes, please pay me the same courtesy.
Adolf Chiang - September 28, 2005 11:37 AM (GMT)
OMFG! What the hell does that guy do with the images once he receives them?
samf - September 28, 2005 11:47 AM (GMT)
OMFG! Read the actual link and you'll see he puts them in a forum! What were you thinking of, Adolf?

It again proves the lack of discipline amongst U.S. troops. Pronography and sex is contraband in the military, it appears that despite the superior technology, there's a lack of enforcement.
I suppose the posting of the pictures is the modern version of what my grandfather did in WWII (he used to stub out cigarettes on the corpses of Japs after a firefight). However, their exchange to civilian sources for pronography is indeed disturbing.
samf - September 28, 2005 11:56 AM (GMT)
By the way, it's nice to see you back in the saddle and provoking debate, Anti-Flag.
Anti-Flag - September 28, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
Judging by what happened in Abu Ghraib, wait to be more accurate..what's HAPPENING in Iraqi and Afghan prisons and Guantanemo bay, i'm really not surprised.
This is pure depravity, and nothing can justify it. I sent it to the Herald, in the hope they report on it.
Meanwhile from latest reports on Iraqi prisoner abuse, children are being sodomized.
This illegal war is utter insanity.
Adolf Chiang - September 28, 2005 12:16 PM (GMT)
I ain't debating the legality of the war, but the point is that U.S. troops have realyl fucked up discipline at the moment. They violate international conventions with their prisoner abuse scandals, and now they trade classified materials for cheap pornography. In the face of demoalizing insurgency, I suppose discipline is the price to pay.
If I'm an officer and I catch my subordinates raping a civilian or POW, or performing any lewd acts for that matter, I'll make sure the offenders cut their own dicks off and eat it raw!

Are you saying that you support the war and the actions of the American troops and that I'm an idiot for being against your views? The whole Iraq War is FUBAR.

That is true, though morally I don't have a problem with this. Spoils of war is as old as war itself.
Anti-Flag - September 29, 2005 08:50 AM (GMT)
Mrt, well then, i'm sure you won't mind if it was a pic of your dead mother being disseminated around for the sick pleasure of others. Just a 'spoil of war' anyway.
Again, i seriously question your morals. Especially when it's dictated by history.
Senor - September 29, 2005 09:42 AM (GMT)
o whole load of that shit is so faked. the fact that decapitations and amputations have aterial spray and shit, most of them have a huge lack of blood.
but the stuff that is real... fuck the american military.

Anti-Flag - September 29, 2005 10:06 AM (GMT)
I have plenty to say, but i've come to realise it would be a waste of time with a person like yourself.
Continue to rationalise and justify callousness. Don't mind me. :)

You think the women who were also victimised like your mother would have a choice to be involved in this war? Because what you're actually admiting to here is, like the mothers of Iraq, if this country was attacked, your mother will definately be involved AND will be a 'spoil of war.' Just following your 'logic' mate. ;)

For fuck sakes, where's the censorship in this whole god-awful shitty mess? I don't know about the American policies regarding the photography of the dead, their access to pornography and the potential of trading classified materials for pornography is clearly disturbing. I would also like to point out that no pictures of U.S. dead, or at least not to the pleasures of the masturbating troops.
It is horrific that there are disgusting necrophiliacs out there who thrive on the availability of such images of war, the U.S. government should target the problem at its source.
I thought you were a man...

What's sick is when people attempt to justify these abhorrent acts. One of the many social ills the US has failed to deal with.

I am anti the Iraq war, but two fallas I know arnt, they think its good.
here is their basic arguement:
-Are the USA not helping Iraqis by getting rid of Saddam? Eventually Iraq should become a better place than it was under him (basically ends justifying means).
-The minority who were in power under Saddam are now going round killing innocent Iraqis just because they no longer have power. This minority is evil and want to restrict Iraqis basic human rights.
- Somone has to get rid of the regimes like Saddams, if the Iraqi people can't do it themselves then it is up to the USA to do it for them.
- oh yeh, and an absolute beauty, "the terriosts started it".
I know these arguements are pretty moronic, but I would appreciate some rebuttal on them.

I never admitted anything like that. Now you're putting words into my mouth. Do you frequently argue in this way?
the oob - September 30, 2005 04:08 AM (GMT)
Although I'm under no delusions as to the real reasons for the war, I'm not ready to call whether the war was good or bad (in result, not motivation) until well after the dust has settled (if it ever settles). Calling out extreme examples of troop behaviour and using it to smear the entire occupation isn't a reasonable way of thinking about it though.

Eventually we may reach a point in history where despotic regimes are able to maintain such a strangehold over their populations that only outside intervention can take them down, because the increasing power of the state (especially with advances in surveillance technology and such) can resist any attempt at armed rebellion. There's no right answer for that dilemma.
