No he didn't, typical lying politican finding some way to weasel out of their promise.
Aaron_von_Cock - September 25, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
Its not as if he had his cock out or anything. Pussy
the oob - September 25, 2005 06:45 AM (GMT)
He could have at least worn a penis gourd.

Except he'd need a smaller one, because he's such a pussy.

"That's the only election promise the Greens will keep."
- Rodney Hide (interviewed by One News)

The Greens: keeping their promises, except when they're too inconvenient.
Adolf Chiang - September 25, 2005 07:56 AM (GMT)
I don't see how that man facing his public humiliation can be as happy as some pig in shit.

He wasn't weaseling out off anything at all. he had the whole thing planned all along, just in case he lost the bet. As a man over the age of 60, I'm sure that Mr. Locke knows the consequences of public nudity. The body pain and underpants meant that he had nothing to lose. The whole exercise even became some sort of fun promotion of his party. If he did "promise" full nudity, that kind of horse shit will simply ruin his party's image to the rest of NZ.

Faking a smile is the first thing they teach you when you enter politics.

I hope that comment was sarcastic. LOL!
the oob - September 25, 2005 08:22 AM (GMT)
Ehh, I'd slag off any politician that did the same thing. The fact that it's a Green just makes it all the sweeter.

You guys are uber-jaded. Knowing our politicians have the humour and guts to do this shit makes me proud to be a kiwi. :helen:
DnB007 - September 26, 2005 12:12 AM (GMT)

Proud Kiwi? if our politicians are more efficient and get more public works sorted, I'll be even more proud (my patriotism is current on overdrive). I suppose they have some time to screw a round before parliament re-opens.
Mr Lanky Bobs - September 26, 2005 01:23 AM (GMT)
i still say we need to take a leaf out of germanys book and elect a porn star...and then if she made a promise to run naked down the street at least we know she'd do it...

And like a true politician he modified his promise so it was partial nudity, not full, which I say is not being true to the nature of the promise. What he did was a cop out.
Do all Green MPs so easily compromise on their promises? Well at least one does.
Adolf Chiang - September 26, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
First of all, nobody will be stupid enough to promise that kind of crap. They know the consequences on their personal image and their party's image if they commit something so shameful. My idea is that Locke had simply planned the whole body paint and underpants thing all along just in case Hide gets elected.

I dunno, the Greens are pretty stupid. If he'd had this planned in advance he would have said 'in a g-string' rather than naked, then he wouldn't have been a liar, since body paint can pass as not being clothing.
Mr Lanky Bobs - September 27, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
but if he did go completely naked would he not be breaking the law?

Yes. He essentially made an agreement to break the law if Rodney Hide won Epsom.
