I find it hilarious that the cultural week poster that is now everywhere has a seemingly obvious flaw:

There is not a single 'white' person on it.

Are they applying white people dont have culture?

As an Anthropologist i find it offensive. Surely the person running the Culture Week is not stupid enough to eliminate whites from it, he/she should be fired for being a complete and utter dipshit. To say that any culture/race has no culture is obsurd. To say that atleast 1 billion people are without culture is illogical and plain ignorant.

If it was a single person and he or she was 'dark' then i wouldnt have a problem. But it just seems that the person who did the poster went out of his way to choose ethnic groups with a better 'tan'.

Maybe one of the people is just a really dark tanned white person, like Hulk Hogan.

Anyway, in my first on topic response of this thread, the reason there are no white people is that white new zealand culture is the default culture of new zealand and the most potent. The idea behind cultural week is to celebrate the lesser cultures so that we can pretend we're not a pack of oppressive cunts and so that they can pretent that they are not insignificant.

Yeah. If that were true then we would only have pictures of Maori's. However the picture contained obvious references to Tonga and Samoa. If we take the idea that only "lesser cultures" should be represented, where are the Polish, the Welsh, the Eskimos and the Jews.

Cultural week sucks ass. Not only am I expected to put up with these filthy immigrants, but now I have be subjected to their cultural shit as well. Yet I'm not allowed to be racist at all. Where's the tradeoff? I mean to be fair, if there is no 'white-culture' invovled, then it is only fair that I get an entire day to abuse any minorities I see fit. They have their day of appreciation, and I get my day of pure hatred. That way, everything is in balance.

Not only am i an Immigrant (Im English) but my girlfriend is Welsh. HOWEVER: i agree that if there is a segregated 'black' only culture day, the 'whites' should have a day where they do what they do best. Which is exploit <Insert word meaning ethnic here> people to make money.
